Team Updates: Pivot Maxxis p/b Stans NoTubes - Meet the Team!

The Pivot-Maxxis team welcomes you to the 2019/2020 Cyclocross season! Two new riders were signed to the team - Grant Ellwood and Ruby West. The team has some fun ideas in the works, a solid racing schedule, and a couple new sponsors on board for the year.

It's been a long, but short off-season for Courtenay. With no hip surgery this year, she spent a lot of time focusing her energy on other things - racing mountain bikes, organizing another year with the team, enjoying time with friends, and getting outside and enjoying what her body is capable of doing.

The last couple of weeks was full gas prepping for the season that lay ahead and the entire team is looking forward to attacking the season with newfound energy. They spent four days in Courtenay’s lovely hometown of Bellingham, WA where they got to know each other a little better, led a cyclocross clinic for the Bellingham community, modeled for the camera, and went on some awesome rides while Courtenay showcased her favorite trails to both Ruby and Grant.

The lead-up to the cyclocross season the last couple of weeks was a wild ride - dealing with a few minor medical issues was not the way Courtenay would ideally prep for the first race of the season, but if there is anything she's learned over the last two years, it's that perseverance pays off, sometimes you can't control the uncontrollable and the best thing you can do is relax and let it be. The season is long and sometimes the uncontrollable ends up being a blessing in disguise.

Ruby spent her last couple of weeks enjoying being at home in Dundas, ON before heading back to school this week, while Grant has been putting the final touches on his training for the season.

They're off to Rochester, NY to kick off the season with the first of three C1 weekends of the year. After that, all eyes will be on the US World Cups in Iowa and Wisconsin!
